Pay Information: Hourly Rate: $29.75-$37.19
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, Content, the Finance Associate supports purchasing and procurement activities across the Content division. The role is responsible for ensuring timely processing of procurement requests, vendor onboarding, and invoice workflows.
The Associate partners closely with the Finance and Accounting teams to maintain efficient workflows and support cost control, procurement efficiency, and vendor management.
As a key member of the Content division, this role supports Finance Managers primarily through data preparation, data management, and ad hoc analysis, with a focus on data accuracy, project costing, and cost tracking/reporting.
The role requires handling confidential information with discretion and delivering timely, professional support to internal stakeholders.

This role will work hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working remotely.
Essential Functions:
Activities include, but not limited to:
- Procurement Processes:
- Create purchase requisitions as needed
- Send approved purchase orders, including terms and conditions, to vendors
- Collect documentation for received goods and services (e.g., packing slips, bill of lading, receiving logs)
- Record receipt of goods and services within the purchasing system (Zip)
- Process invoices by ensuring accuracy, proper approvals, compliance with accounting policies, and correct sales/use tax treatment
- Expense & Corporate Card Management
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of corporate cards and virtual cards
- Collect receipts and ensure proper coding and policy compliance
- Ensure alignment with company and grant funding requirements
- Operations & Vendor Support
- Source and purchase production and office supplies
- Coordinate with Independent Contractors on material releases and facilitating payments
- Travel & Expense Support
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Direct Travel/Concur
- Assist Content staff with expense reports, travel arrangements and event registrations
- FP&A & Accounting Support
- Support month-end accruals for assigned departments
- Review and adjust employee expense coding
- Administrative & Compliance
- Maintain records in a secure, neat and easily accessible manner
Candidate Qualifications:
- At least 2-3 years relevant experience in accounts payable, accounting or general finance
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Strong collaboration skills with a customer service orientation
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail
- Operates with a sense of urgency
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Google (Sheets, Docs), and Adobe Acrobat
- Previous experience with financial systems and/or procure to pay systems in a mid to large organizations
- General understanding of budgets and a good aptitude with numbers
- Ability to work independently and take initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Zip, and Concur
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables and lookups)
- Familiarity with 3-way match
- Exposure to month-end close processes (accruals)
- Familiarity with restricted vs. unrestricted funding
