Development Research Intern
This is a paid internship, working 16 hours per week from January 21, 2025 through June 27th, 2025. Current Salary is $18.67 per hour.

The Research Intern supports the Development Department to provide high-level description and analysis on donors and prospects from both within and outside of KQED.
The position reports to the Director, Individual Major Gifts – Peninsula and will work up to 16 hours per week from January through June, 2025. The format will be a hybrid– working in KQED's state-of-the-art San Francisco headquarters an average of one day per week and remotely on remaining days.

We provide citizens with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions; convene community dialogue; bring the arts to everyone and engage audiences to share their stories. This role requires working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working in the field. KQED requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Responsibilities may include:
Donor and Prospect Research (80%)
- Utilizing a wide variety of tools, including the ROI database (KQED CRM), Google, LinkedIn, Wealth Engine, Wealth X, conduct thorough research of donors and prospects.
- Analyze, interpret, and evaluate personal, business, and financial information for current and prospective donors to identify capacity, inclination and interests.
- Prepare clear and concise research reports, donor profiles and strategic briefings on donors, prospects and/or groups of prospects for Development staff and Executive Management in advance of meetings, calls and events in order to obtain optimal outcome.
Administration (20%)
- Record research, including relationships, interests and other information in ROI
- Create and refine research report templates.
- Document learnings and organize findings.
- Perform routine database clean up.
- Work closely with the operations team to maintain data integrity.

Position Qualifications
- Interest in fundraising, donor research, data analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize data from a wide variety of sources and present the resulting information in a clear, concise summary.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to understand individual needs and coordinate projects and activities.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working in databases and online platforms (LinkedIN, Google, etc).
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
