On-Call Recruiter

KQED provides public radio, television, and independent reporting on issues that matter to the Bay Area. We are the NPR and PBS member station for Northern California where we combine media, journalism, and technology for the common good. The Human Resources team is a collaborative team of trusted advisors and advocates, who embody the KQED pillars, to inform, inspire and involve.  We are looking for an individual to join our team on an as-needed basis to help us recruit top talent to our organization.

You will be responsible for supporting the Talent Acquisition function with recruiting and filling openings within KQED. To be successful in this role, you will have strong recruiting skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Essential Functions:

  1. Full cycle recruiting including, but not limited to:
    1. Conduct recruitment strategy meetings with hiring managers to develop specific recruitment action plan and follows through with recruiting plan making adjustments as necessary to ensure that the position is filled timely
    2. Ensure hiring manager and team preparedness for the interview process and that interviews are conducted efficiently and professionally
    3. Evaluate candidate’s qualifications, including reference checks, salary recommendations and negotiations, offer letter generation and offer acceptances/declines
    4. Maintains accurate files of job postings for required reporting
  2. Work with managers as needed to develop, revise and edit job descriptions
  3. Collaborate with Human Resources staff to promote strong company culture and unified HR strategy
  4. Provides data and reporting on Talent Acquisition through JazzHR

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  1. BA degree or comparable HR working experience
  2. Minimum three years of recruiting/talent acquisition experience
  3. Previous working experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (i.e. JazzHR)
  4. Strong customer service orientation
  5. Must be able to manage multiple priorities at once
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with KQED staff as well as applicants and the general public. Tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality a must
  7. Excellent skills with Microsoft Outlook and Word
  8. Ability to constantly sit for six to eight hours; ability to occasionally walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, as well as push and pull up to three hours; Frequently lifts up to 10lbs. Constantly carries up to 10lbs
