Pay Information: Hourly Pay : $32.80 – $41.01


At a time when philanthropic support has never been more important to public media, KQED is launching a major campaign to ensure the sustainability, vitality, and independence of news, information, and storytelling. The Campaign Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution of KQED’s major fundraising campaign. This role serves as a crucial central coordinating function to ensure the campaign progresses on schedule and meets key milestones.

The Campaign Coordinator reports to the Campaign Manager and is responsible for supporting documentation, gift tracking, communications, and reporting. The Coordinator will support production of pledge forms, acknowledgements, progress reporting, stewardship and cultivation events, donor communications including stewardship reports, and research.

This role will work hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working remotely. 

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Planning & Execution

  • Support the campaign work plan, including updating campaign calendar, timelines and project tracking.
  • Develop and distribute meeting materials and agendas, take meeting notes, and follow up with action items and deadlines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional work between departments such as Major Gifts, Stewardship, Communications, Finance, Operations, and Legal.
  • Support Campaign Manager and Development Operations team in maintaining campaign tracking platforms, CRM entry, dashboards, etc. 
  • Support development and delivery of campaign collateral (case for support, one-pagers, reports, digital content) and presentation decks. 
  • Assist with sorting, editing, and performing mail merges of mailing lists and lists of prospects/donors
  • Assist with campaign expense tracking at direction of Campaign Manager.

Gift Solicitation & Tracking

  • In collaboration with fundraisers and Development Operations team, ensure accurate CRM updates to reflect campaign plans, pledges, payments, and invoicing.
  • Support production of proposals, one-sheets, mailings, gift and pledge agreements, and filing of all documentation.
  • Track pledge payment schedules, and support production and invoicing of pledge payments. 
  • Interface with Finance and Development Operations to reconcile pledges and cash flow.

Donor Engagement & Events

  • Support the execution of a comprehensive donor stewardship program and communications calendar, including impact reports, custom progress reports (including financials, stories, photos, metrics), and email newsletters. 
  • Support all Development and campaign events, including invitation list generation and review, mailings and emails, invitations and RSVP tracking, and accurate reflection of this information in CRM. Service these events on-site, including preparing name tags, running check in, and other front-of-house items.
  • Become expert on the email marketing platform (Engaging Networks) and contribute to the workflow of donor communications and event invitations.
  • Coordinate logistics for donor meetings, including alerting security and parking personnel, as well as arranging room reservations, setup, and breakdown. 
  • Track donor recognition commitments and facilitate fulfillment (including signage, on-air and print recognition, stewardship reports etc.)

Prospect Research

  • At direction of Development and campaign leadership, provide qualitative and quantitative prospect research information. This includes biographical research, tracking history of philanthropic engagement and gifts, creating overviews of donor backgrounds, and using research software to generate profiles.
  • Track and file information with discretion and accuracy, according to KQED’s donor privacy policies. 

Qualifications - Required

  • Three to five years working in a development team or non-profit organization. Experience in Development coordination and/or prospect research preferred.  
  • Understanding of the tenets of philanthropy and moves-management cycles.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Highly organized and able to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Strong oral, written, and overall communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a group/team.
  • Exceptional computer and software skills including Excel, Power Point, etc.

This is a Full Time, Temporary position (through December 31, 2029). On site work at our Mission District (San Francisco) headquarters is required a minimum of 3 days per week (with 2 days remote, if desired). Ability to attend donor events on weekends and on evenings as needed.
