Under the direction of the Senior Director, Leadership Gifts, the Associate Director of Development Operations is responsible for ensuring vertical and horizontal integration, strong cross-functional collaboration and coordination, and high quality outputs across all fundraising operations activities including fundraising analytics and reporting, budget and revenue management and forecasting, gift management (processing, acknowledgements, and agreements) for the Development Division, including Leadership Gifts, Planned Giving, Foundations, Stewardship and Operation departments. This position will supervise the Operations Development Associate and is also responsible for tracking and analysis of aggregate monthly fundraising goals for Leadership Giving stakeholders and portfolio performance reporting for Major Gift Officers.

This role will work hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working remotely. KQED requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or to provide documentation of a need for exemption.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop business rules and ways to optimize Development’s use of Revolution Online (ROI) CRM. Work collaboratively with KQED departments to resolve CRM issues and implement best practices. Develop CRM trainings for new Development staff. Remain informed about organizational updates and changes and share Development’s needs with KQED/ROI Core team. (30%)
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations, including production and segmentation of event invitations and donor communications (mailing and email lists), management of monthly Journal Entry process, creating and oversees tracking of performance metrics for development staff and works with managers to identify issues early and drives toward goal attainment. (25%)
  • Serves as the primary liaison to the Finance team on the creation and monitoring of department budget and revenue (20%)
  • Oversees the gift management process including gift processing, smooth creation of timely and consistent gift acknowledgments, and drafting and reviewing agreements and ensuring appropriate internal reviews and approvals (through supervision). (10%)
  • Create on-air credit schedules and monitor that they are airing accordingly. Ensure the booking and release of pledge drive and major donor challenge grants. (5%)
  • Serve as project manager on select projects impacting the Development Division. (5%)

Knowledge/Experience Desired: 

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational training preferred (STEM field a plus)
  2. At least 4 years’ experience of extensive CRM management, reporting and analysis, preferable with Revolution Online.
  3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite with advanced proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of Google suites.
  4. The individual should be energetic, self-directed and assertive, and also flexible, creative and understanding. 
  5. Ability to accurately synthesize, analyze, and translate data for financial and activity reports.
  6. Excellent project management skills required including the ability to manage multiple projects, drive to deadlines, and maintain disciplined adherence to department goals.
  7. Communication and interpersonal skills must be at the highest possible level.
  8. Demonstrated experience with financial analysis and understanding of fundraising in a complex and dynamic organization, preferably in a non-profit environment.
