KQED DEI Learning & Engagement Workshop Analytics Intern
This is a paid internship, working 12 hours per week from July 7th, 2025 through December 19th 2025. Current Salary is $19.18 per hour
Position Summary:
The KQED DEI Learning & Engagement Workshop Analytics Intern will play a key role in supporting the Office of DEI by researching, developing, and organizing impactful workshops for staff. This intern will help shape the content for our Curious Conversations, ABCs of DEI, and Allyship in Action programs, ensuring that each session addresses meaningful topics that align with staff needs and organizational priorities.
To inform workshop themes, the intern will analyze Engagement Survey data and conduct 1:1 interviews with key staff members to identify pressing topics. Additionally, they will develop a strategic timeline to ensure workshops are delivered at the most effective times throughout the year.

- Researching and developing content for Curious Conversations, ABCs of DEI, and Allyship in Action workshops.
- Analyzing Engagement Survey data and conducting 1:1 interviews with staff to identify key topics.
- Creating a strategic timeline for workshop scheduling.
This role focuses on workshop planning, data analysis, and program strategy through a DEI lens.

This role requires working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working in the field. KQED requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Essential Functions: The KQED DEI Intern may assist with one or more of the following:
- Research & Content Development:
- Develop content for Curious Conversations, ABCs of DEI, and Allyship in Action workshops.
- Conduct research using academic papers, vetted news sources, and DEI insights organizations to inform workshop topics.
- Synthesize key findings and report back to the Manager of DEI Programs on essential themes.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze Engagement Survey data to identify priority topics.
- Conduct 1:1 interviews with key staff members to gather qualitative insights.
- Track and document engagement trends using Google Sheets for data collection.
- Create reports and presentations summarizing research findings and workshop impact.
- Strategic Planning & Workshop Scheduling:
- Develop a strategic timeline for workshop rollouts throughout the year.
- Assess the best timing for workshops based on organizational priorities and staff needs.
- Workshop Design & Material Creation:
- Assist in developing discussion guides, presentation decks, and handouts.
- Internal Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the DEI team to refine workshop topics based on data and staff feedback.
- Assist in crafting internal communications to promote DEI workshops.
- Attend DEI team meetings and contribute to discussions on program strategy.
- Experience with sensitive and confidential information a plus.
- Additional Support:
- Monitor emerging DEI trends and provide updates to the team.
- Other duties as assigned
Candidate qualifications:
- A genuine passion for DEI concepts, with a willingness to learn and deepen knowledge.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree (0-3 years of experience).
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive).
- Strong online research skills with an ability to assess credible sources, including academic papers, news organizations, and DEI insights.
- Comfortable conducting 1:1 interviews and speaking with individuals across various job levels.
- Cultural competence and the ability to engage with diverse perspectives thoughtfully and respectfully.
- Detail-oriented and outcomes-focused, with a drive to create impactful learning experiences.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting research findings and summarizing key insights.
- Strong cultural competence and sensitivity in communicating with and about diverse communities
- Eagerness to learn and engage with diverse communities.
- Experience with Canva or other design tools (a plus, but not required).
- Basic data analysis and tracking experience (a plus, but not required).
