Internship: Check Please Bay Area Production Intern (July 2021-Dec 2021)

The Check, Please Bay Area intern assists in both production and post-production efforts, rights tracking, administrative tasks working with the Series Producer, Coordinating Producer, Engagement Producer and Editors.  This year the intern will participate in the production of an exciting new spinoff series, Check, Please! You Gotta Try This!

This is a paid internship, working 16 hours per week from July 19, 2021 through December 30, 2021. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Logging: reviewing raw footage from location shoots and drone footage and creating records to make the footage searchable, identifying best shots for promos and social media 
  • Assist producers on location shoots on show taping days, including behind-the-scenes photography support
  • Assist producers and editors with music selection and cue sheets
  • Assist with copy prep and proofreading for post-production graphics
  • Assist Engagement Producer in creating original content (memes, GIFs, etc) for social media as assigned.
  • Correspond with guests to help them prep for show tapings 
  • Evaluating online submissions, and vetting guest and restaurants for next season

 

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • A genuine passion for food and drink, and the Bay Area culinary scene
  • An interest in public media, Television Broadcast and film distribution
  • Experience with social media, especially TikTok, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Experience with YouTube
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and WordPress preferred
  • Strong online research skills, with accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently, learn quickly and balance multiple assignments.
  • Excellent oral, written and online communication skills with a high comfort level for making new connections 

 

Knowledge/Experience Desired: 

  • Ability to shoot additional video and/or photos
