Deadline to apply for KQED Internships is May 31, 2021. If you are applying to multiple KQED internships, please state this along with the Internship titles in your cover letter.
We are looking for a Production Intern who will collaborate with KQED’s Education team to produce high-quality digital educational media for students and teachers. We want someone who understands youth culture and is a social media native. You should have the finger on the pulse of what diverse communities of young people are interested in -- their concerns, their passions, and their humor. We strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
The Education Department at KQED provides free resources to teachers and students that advance media literacy skills and civic engagement and that amplify youth voice. We produce the award-winning video series Above the Noise, the youth media site KQED Learn, and KQED Teach, which provides professional development courses for educators, among other services. We also support teachers and students in youth media production projects, through media challenges and KQED’s Youth Takeover.
This is a paid internship, working 16 hours per week from July 19th through December 30, 2021.
KQED is for everyone who wants to be more. Our television, radio, digital media, and educational services change lives for the better and help individuals and communities achieve their full potential.
KQED serves the people of Northern California with a community-supported alternative to commercial media. We provide citizens with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions; convene community dialogue; bring the arts to everyone and engage audiences to share their stories. We help students and teachers thrive in 21st-century classrooms, and take people of all ages on journeys of exploration- exposing them to new people, places, and ideas.
We celebrate diversity, embrace innovation, value lifelong learning, and partner with those who share our passion for public services.
The Production Intern will be responsible, along with the production team, for successfully supporting the production, distribution, and organization of the Education team’s media assets on time and budget to fulfill project objectives. The Intern will also support the creation of social media content, especially videos, to engage a Gen Z audience.
