 In conjunction with the Finance Analyst the purpose of this position is to provide financial support to all staff in the content division and to work closely with the Accounts Payable department and vendors to facilitate payment. 

The Finance Associate is responsible for providing a variety of services that support the Content Finance Team and internal and external clients in a timely and professional manner. The Finance Associate will be expected to handle confidential data securely and with discretion.

This role will work hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working remotely. KQED requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the procurement process by creating requisitions, distributing purchase orders and processing invoices in a timely manner. 
  • Source and purchase necessary production/office supplies and manage news and software subscriptions.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Direct Travel/Concur. Assist clients with expense reports and travel arrangements and event registration as needed. 
  • Perform multi-department credit card reconciliations on a monthly basis, ensuring proper PO's are created, coding is correct, and required backup is included.
  • Coordinate with Independent Contractors on material releases and facilitating payments.
  • Review expense reports and adjust coding as needed.
  • Coordinate with content creators to collect and review all music cue sheets. Share sheets with our music library partner, following their strict specifications and deadlines.
  • Provide administrative support and research services to the content finance team.
  • Maintain all records in a secure, neat and easily accessible manner.
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned.

 

Position Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree (Finance or business-related field preferred)

 

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 1 year of office experience
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word, Google, Acrobat
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential data responsibly
  • Highly organized
  • Operates with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled in cross departmental collaboration
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Interested in workflow and operational systems

 

Knowledge/Experience Desired:

  • Experience with Concur and Sage Intacct
  • Experience working in non-profit sector
